2025 Levy Facts

The Champaign County Library will be seeking renewal for its levy this November.  Here are some basic facts about this levy.

 

How much is this levy?

0.8 mills

 

How much will the levy cost?

The cost is $17.99 for every $100,000 in valuation.

The value of the property is based on the auditor's appraised value, not the market value of the home.  You can view your home's value at the Champaign County Auditor's site.

 

Is this a renewal?

Yes.  This is the only levy the library has and it is up for renewal every 5 years.

 

Libraries are cost effective.

Ohio has the highest per capita usage and one of the most cost effect price per transaction rates.

  • Last year the library circulated 139,139 items and 58,920 digital items.
  • The library has 15,577 registered borrowers.
  • Over 1,300 new cards were handed out in 2024.
